2810: a community gathering place

 2810 is a shared work and event space in a trendy urban neighborhood. The building and the business are owned and operated by Area 10 Faith Community and as such, the space and its design aesthetic needed to meet the needs of the church while also being neutral enough for outside organizations and businesses to make it their own as an event and meeting venue. A variety of comfortable, flexible, and stylish seating and gathering spaces with a decidedly modern flair were the perfect complement to the building’s historic, industrial structure. Exposing the brick, keeping the ceilings open to the beautiful hand-crafted timber trusses, and carefully restoring the aged wood floor were strategies that keep this modern renovation tied to its historic roots. The result is a fresh and modern space that speaks the historic language of the neighborhood while providing a comfortable, creative, and compelling space for both the church and the community.
